This little photo album belonged to my mom, Mary Kerr Krentz. It's just 2" high.
"Dime store snap of Patti at 11 mos. It's not very good. I sent the best ones to Russ."This is the only photo with any identification on it. I think the identification was
written by my mom's friend Gerry, whose picture is included later in the book.
On the left is my mom with a friend, circa 1943.On the right, my dad and mom at the upper left corner,
on a visit to my dad's family in North Dakota.
The date is probably 1946-1948, before I was born.
At left, if I'm not mistaken, is my genie-cousin on my dad's side,Mary Beth. (If I am mistaken, I'm sure she'll tell me!)
The desperado on the right is me. I look like such a twinkie!
And, although it pains me to borrow lyrics from
a girl with no underpants, I'm not that innocent!
This was probably my kindergarten picture.
At left, Russ and Gerry, my mom's friends. My mom is the maid (or matron?) of honor.
I don't recognize the best man. Facing page:
I've no idea who the young lady on the right is.

I am looking forward to the event, the sharing of the caring, etc. You have some nice photos. That baby is darling.
Aw, that Patti girl was lucky, she got a hat. The rest of us girls were having some serious bad-hair days! ;-)
What a great little album to have. Presumably it's homemade and designed to fit in a purse, nice and handy? Thankls for sharing it. Regards, Brett
I don't think homemade, Brett, maybe a dime store thing, or even something that might have been given as a freebie when having film developed... or maybe something you could get as an album to put photo-booth pictures in? It's actually the perfect size for that--it looks like a couple of those pictures actually were from a photo booth.
I love your little album! What a treasure. I'm impressed with how largge and clear the images appear on my screen. Did you scan or photograph them?
Sorry - it's me again. I forgot to ask.... Are the photographs in little clear pockets, or is there a coating over them, or ...? Is the spiral metal?
I'm thinking about the large scrapbooks that people make so often these days with one photograph per page and maybe some journaling on the page. Those are great, but sometimes, an album like this is just about perfect. (Except it's too bad about no names on the backs.)
I scanned them, Nancy. You know, with small pictures, if you scan them at higher resolutions, you can get a pretty good look at them on the computer. For an amazing example, see In Search of the Schulte Line, Part 3.
Yes, the spiral binding is metal. The pages are not exactly pockets, they are open at both the top and bottom edges with a fold at the side opposite the binding, so you can slip photos in. They're clear, with no paper inserts, so if the book were empty of photos, you could theoretically see through it.
